Die meisten Internet- und Netzwerksicherheitsexperten kennen Secured Sockets Layer (SSL)-Zertifikate und die kritische Rolle, die sie in Ihrer umfassenden Web-Sicherheitsplattform spielen. Dennoch verfügen viele dieser Experten über ein nur geringes oder falsches Verständnis eines besonders wichtigen Protokolls innerhalb von SSL mit dem Potenzial, die den Besuchern einer Website angebotene Schutzstufe radikal zu ändern. Dieses Protokoll nennt sich Server Gated Cryptography oder kurz SGC. Die Verwendung eines SGC-aktivierten SSLZertifikats erhöht die für viele Site-Besucher verfügbare Verschlüsselungsstufe und stellt tatsächlich sicher, dass für die größtmögliche Menge an Site-Besuchern eine Verschlüsselung von 128 Bit oder mehr gewährleistet ist.
