ValleyCrest Companies, the largest landscape services company in the nation, faced just such a situation. For years, it had run Oracle's JD Edwards' World financial software on an IBM AS/400 mainframe. But the company had an aging drive farm and CPU. The hardware simply wasn't keeping up with the growing company's needs and ValleyCrest was faced with a major capital investment if the company stayed in its present course. HP helped ValleyCrest migrate from JD Edwards' World financial software running on an IBM AS/400 mainframe to the newer Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP software running on HP ProLiant servers in an open systems environment.
