When universities cultivate reputations for excellence, they naturally place a high value on technology. That is certainly the case with The School of Management, Finances, and Technology (EAFIT University) in Medellin, Colombia, which has made technology a cornerstone of its academic strategy. EAFIT University is one of the only colleges in Colombia, for example, that provides Internet connectivity to all of its professors. The university wanted to prepare its engineering students in Colombia to function in a technology-oriented, global economy. A HP Technology for Teaching Grant designed to help educators in math, science, computer science, and engineering enabled EAFIT University to equip its computer lab with a mobile research lab, and to create two mobile classrooms.
