With 11 subsidiaries across the country, Sun Food has become a large-scale enterprise with a fast-growing customer base. Yet the company was running its core financial and business processes with an outmoded legacy IT system consisting mostly of spreadsheets and custom-developed standalone applications. Sun Food's non-integrated legacy platform resulted in inefficient "Information islands" scattered across the organization with no fast way of tracking down information. When an issue arose, it could take staff up to two days to find and verify information. Realizing that it needed an integrated system, Sun Food began searching for a solution, evaluating SAP and MOVEX before deciding on Oracle Financials and Order Management applications.
