Sprint realized it needed to rapidly launch a new Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solution for enterprises to address the reality of modern business: dispersed workforces, multiple forms of access, the need to simplify administration, and business continuity concerns. Sprint was looking for a partner who could deliver a reliable, flexible solution that would enhance user connectivity and simplify network complexity by combining voice and data communications on a single IP network. Sprint chose Lucent to deliver an end-to-end hosted IP PBX solution for enterprise through its carrier-grade GNOC, utilizing redundant facilities in Colorado and Illinois.
