Telecom New Zealand (TNZ) wanted to create world-class operations that could generate additional revenue streams while leveraging its investment in CDMA technology. In order to achieve goals, TNZ needed to be able to maintain focus on core capabilities and redeploy resources to drive marketing initiatives and revenue creation. They began looking for an outsourcing service provider who possessed global leadership in CDMA technology, managed-services experience, and world-class resources. TNZ found everything they needed in Lucent. At the outset of the relationship, the Lucent Next Generation Network Lifecycle (NGNL) governance model was utilized to identify shared goals; set service level targets; and establish accountability for the management of resources, technologies, and network evolution.
