Although the United States economy as a whole stumbled in the early part of the new millennium, the mortgage business thrived due to extraordinarily low mortgage rates. WestAmerica Mortgage Company has ridden that boom to record growth and revenues. But fast expansion caused WestAmerica Mortgage to quadruple the size of its computer network, which in turn created a dramatic increase in server computer monitoring and management for its IT staff. To cope, the company implemented Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005, a comprehensive event and performance management solution. The reports and alerts that MOM 2005 generates have significantly reduced the workload for the IT staff, postponed the need to hire additional technicians, reduced IT costs, and improved system uptime and user satisfaction.
