Seasonal events, promotions and new product introductions have traditionally been characterised by frantic communications, hours of logistical planning and detailed analysis to ensure products arrive on the shelves on time, and in sufficient quantities. All too often, planning misses the mark, and retailers are faced with disappointed customers or unwanted price cutting to clear the shelves. Woolworths was determined to avoid this fate, and called in Microsoft Certified Solution provider Eqos to improve its supply chain operations. In addition, Woolworths wanted a Web-based solution that would allow them to communicate with suppliers in real time. The new platform, Eqos Collaborator, has already changed the way the company manages new product introductions.
