Until recently, the XcelleNet's Afaria administration console needed to be operated from the server itself, requiring the administrator to be on-site. A web administration alternative was available, but it couldn't offer the full experience or feature set of the Windows 32-based console. XcelleNet's larger enterprise customers requested a full-featured web interface to allow multiple administrators to have access to the server from various locations. To make the full features and familiar interface more readily available, XcelleNet is implementing the next version of the Afaria Management console with a browser-based front end, using the Microsoft .NET Framework's Windows Forms classes to provide smart client features to Internet Explorer users, for browser-based control of XcelleNet's Afaria Management console.
