When SQL server 2000 was released it had a lot of features that supported XML and the Internet paradigm. There was a considerable effort to integrate XML with the database engine. In continuation to what people saw with SQL Server 2000, SQL Server Yukon beta1 has been sufficiently equipped with the various tools and ways in which integrate XML with the database engine. This paper provides some elementary information about the new datatype in the latest release of SQL Server called Yukon beta 1.
