ZLB Behring AG in Bern, Switzerland, has introduced a mobile messaging solution to meet the demands from front-line management and salespeople for better out-of-office communications. The project allows travelling staff to use Web-enabled mobile devices to gain secure access to e-mail, calendars, and contact lists via the Internet. Forecasts show the project doubling in size within a year and use of the solution extending to many other parts of the business. The solution, which deploys Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, was developed in partnership with Swisscom Mobile. It went live in February 2004.
