As opensource solutions become more common in enterprise environments, they are also becoming more intuitive. While many admins from the Windows world were reluctant to deploy Linux based firewalls, the systems and configuration consoles have matured. For quite some time now an opensource project called "IPCOP" has been evolving. The project is dedicated to creating an easy to manage firewall solution because a firewall can only be as safe as its configuration is intuitive.
