Nikon Corporation is known worldwide for cameras and digital imaging products. To remain competitive in the fast-paced optics market, Nikon wanted its executives to have ready access to messages while they were traveling, but security was a primary concern. The company also wanted to encourage collaboration between member companies of the Nikon Group. To achieve these goals, Nikon implemented a comprehensive new messaging solution using Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. For its executives, Nikon chose mobile devices powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 because of the security and real-time access that it provides through Exchange Server 2007.
