Since 2003, Guardian Management LLC has used Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 as its messaging system. From various locations, the firm's nearly 500 employees use the Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 messaging and collaboration client, Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access, or a variety of mobile devices to send and receive e-mail messages. Wanting to streamline its complex messaging infrastructure, the IT department deployed the beta version of Exchange Server 2007 with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 Edition. By taking advantage of the enhanced features of Office Outlook Web Access and the new Unified Messaging capabilities in Exchange Server 2007, Guardian is giving employees unfettered real-time access to calendar, e-mail, and voice mail messages.
