Con-way, a freight company providing transportation to businesses throughout North America, wanted to remotely manage the thin-client and mobile devices used for freight tracking by employees at its 440 service centers. The company was using time-consuming, manual processes to deploy and manage its devices. With help from Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Centerlogic, Con-way developed a solution using Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 that will enable the company to quickly and easily deploy and manage more than 10,000 devices from its IT headquarters in Portland, Oregon. Configuring a device for deployment now takes up to 85 percent less time, and updates and device reimaging that used to take 24 hours now take 1 hour.
