Aggreko is a specialist in the short-term rental of power, temperature control, and oil-free compressed air systems. Based in Scotland, the company needed an automated check-in and check-out system at its service centres that would replace paper-based processes with mobile devices. Together with Spartan Solutions, a specialist in radio frequency identification, Aggreko built a solution using devices based on Windows Mobile, which integrated smoothly with its existing business management system, Movex. Completed in just 16 weeks, the pilot has cut the time for checking in and booking out equipment from days to just minutes.
