Weyerhaeuser Company, a global forest products company, wanted more options for communicating internally and externally with customers in real time. With operations spanning multiple time zones, the company needed better tools for collaborating and sharing information. Weyerhaeuser deployed Microsoft Office unified communications products and services, which included Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 and Microsoft Office Communicator 2005. Now Weyerhaeuser employees can communicate from within an open business application, using e-mail, instant messaging, or hosted Web conferencing. Secure communication tools allow employees to share vital product data both internally and with others outside the Weyerhaeuser network. This unified solution with the familiar Office family interface has helped Weyerhaeuser save valuable time and share critical information with partners around the globe.
