SRI International then conducted a feasibility study for the National Bureau of Standards on the use of keystroke dynamics for computer security. The study demonstrated that a familiar passage such as a logon and password sequence was sufficient for virtually error-free authentication of users. In 984, International Bioaccess Systems Corporation acquired all the rights to the keystroke dynamics technology that had been developed by SRI International. In 2002, BioPassword, Inc. acquired all rights to the technology, trade secrets, and patents.
