The charity Christian Aid wanted to improve collaboration and document sharing among its staff worldwide. The 2004 South Asian Tsunami tragedy struck shortly after Christian Aid completed a migration to Microsoft Windows Server 2003, part of Microsoft Windows Server System integrated server software. Christian Aid needed to improve co-ordination of its response to the disaster and embarked on a Proof Of Concept (POC) using Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services. Its success was the green light to roll out Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 across the whole organisation starting in London. The next step is to use SharePoint Portal Server 2003 as the backbone technology of automated invoice processing.
