From the IDC report: The range of choice for HP's server customers is increasing by design, as the vendor brings new combinations of hardware platforms and operating systems to the worldwide server marketplace. To address the diversity of customer requirements, HP is expanding customer choice in its server product line. As it goes to market, HP has chosen to partner with processor vendors, ISV software providers, and channel partners in order to leverage industrywide economics. HP's approach to the marketplace combines partnering for the hardware and software components that make up its technology building blocks and providing product differentiation in the way that it builds systems that can be rapidly deployed, quickly adapted to changing business conditions, and easily managed.
