Exchange ActiveSync is a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 feature that lets the person synchronize one's mailbox data to a mobile device. Exchange ActiveSync can be configured to synchronize a mobile device with an Exchange server mailbox at intervals as frequent as every five minutes. Additionally, Pocket PC Phone Edition devices or Smartphones running either Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 software or Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition can be configured for self-updating, using a companion feature named Always-Up-To-Date (AUTD). This paper provides a brief introduction to how AUTD works.
