If network service providers want to obtain content that will drive broadband subscriber revenue from $30 per month for access to $100 per month for entertainment services, they must prove to content owners that they will implement a thorough content protection scheme. HP and Intel have assembled an end-to-end Video-on-Demand solution that addresses both DRM (Digital Rights Management) and Conditional Access System components. HP and Intel's partners include Widevine Technologies who provides open-standard content security solutions fully integrated into the VOD value chain. Running on HP ProLiant server based on the Intel Xeon processor family, this solution cost effectively provides Conditional Access, Digital Rights Management and persistent encryption to homes using Set-Top-Boxes (STB) with Intel Celeron processors.
