The University of New Orleans, often called UNO, is a medium-sized public urban university located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The university wanted to rapidly restore their database and core financial, human resources, and student administration systems following Hurricane Katrina. UNO wanted to provide the technology infrastructure required to enable the university to make payroll and reopen as quickly as possible. UNO worked with Oracle Support to rapidly rebuild the university's IT infrastructure from the ground up in two weeks, installing and restoring the Oracle Database and reinstalling Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise applications for financial management, human resources, and student administration.
