Baker Donelson is a regional law firm based in Memphis, Tennessee. The firm's 1,000 employees needed a better, more efficient method of viewing up-to-date client and case information. This information was stored in disparate databases, and employees had to rely on multiple applications to access it. To solve that problem, the firm enlisted the services of Handshake Software, a software development company. Handshake created an integrated solution for the company based on Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 and the Microsoft Office Information Bridge Framework. Employees can now view detailed information about every client on a single Web research pane, without having to leave Microsoft Office Word 2003 or Office Outlook 2003.
