United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) has 73,000 user mailboxes located throughout the region, which require secure, rapid, and dependable communications - despite low bandwidth and uncertain telecommunications systems in some parts of Europe. Under a Department of the Air Force directive, USAFE needed to modernize communications system by migrating to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. Recognizing that Microsoft itself has the most experience and knowledge of such deployments, and a full range of best practices based on hundreds of actual deployments, USAFE engaged Microsoft Services Premier Support to support its Exchange Server 2003 deployment. As a result of the engagement, USAFE pushed its deployment ahead by six months, with little to no interruption in service to USAFE's users.
