The Actuate e.Spreadsheet Engine transforms Excel spreadsheets into Java components that developers can embed seamlessly into Java applications. When an insurance system requires a premium rate, the engine calls the spreadsheet, passes it parameters, calculates its formulas, and returns the results to the Java program.
