The Texas Legislative Council (TLC) provides bill drafting services to the legislature. TLC uses a word processor and a proprietary editing and archival application called SALSA to manage the drafting and storage of legislative documents. But the council is receiving an increasingly large number of documents that were created in Microsoft Word by external sources. Because documents must be converted to the TLC word processing software before being imported into SALSA, the process proved costly and cumbersome. To resolve this, TLC plans to implement a Microsoft Office System solution that integrates seamlessly with SALSA and streamlines the workflow process.
