The future pace of radio frequency innovation may parallel electricity's speed of advancement in the early 20th century or computer technology in the 1980's and 90's. Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) has been around for decades but it is now at the inflection point to drive business process improvement. With large scale pilots in organizations such as Wal-Mart, Target and Tesco reaching completion, many retailers, manufacturers and logistics companies are closely evaluating implementation of RFID and the opportunities represented in process, risk management and profitability improvements.
