Hurricane Charley, the most powerful storm to soak the Fort Myers, Florida area in 44 years snapped utility poles, demolished buildings, flooded roads and caused billions of dollars in damage when it came ashore in September 2004 with 145-m.p.h. winds and 10-foot waves. But this Goliath of hurricanes was no match for the electronic clinical information system utilized by Florida Heart Associates, a Fort Myers-based cardiology practice.
