Backup, restore, and disaster recovery are critical elements of data management. Backing up file systems means copying file systems to removable media, such as tape, to safeguard against loss, damage, or corruption. Restoring file systems means copying current backup files from removable media to a working directory. This paper discusses various methods for backing up zone configurations and data on the system, and provides recommendations on the different methodologies that can be used.
