By adding hierarchical networking to Fibre Channel (FC), HP has combined the flexibility and scalability of data networks with the performance and reliability of FC fabrics. The FCR brings unprecedented reliability, manageability, security, flexibility, and scalability to SANs, and makes deployments practical that were not even theoretically possible before its introduction.
