Storage manufacturer Quantum uses Oracle's E-Business Suite for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and will be expanding its use for human resources, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and other purposes. Oracle applications run on ten servers across the company, and the company wanted a less-expensive way to provision and patch Oracle applications. In addition, the company was suffering downtime with its Oracle applications, and was looking to improve performance. To solve the problem, it turned to the HP Enterprise File Service Clustered Gateway. The result has been a projected, cumulative five-year net benefit of $1,054,180, driven by productivity increases, IT staff savings, and improvements in managing server updates.
