Baillie Gifford is one of the UK's leading asset management firms. Previously, the company's Disaster Recovery Plan ensured the recovery of most systems and services within a 36 hour timescale however the constant increase in data volumes was making this more difficult, and the management of the firm were keen to reduce that time period if that were possible at a reasonable cost. Baillie Gifford wanted a solution to work with their existing IP infrastructure and within the 100Mb constrains of their inter-site links. Over a six month period they looked at the traditional storage hardware vendors and then StoreAge.
