At a major Midwestern healthcare provider, Disaster Recovery (DR) is a major challenge, complicated by the sheer number of volumes and files that must be accurately tracked. This includes changes to the files and backups of the data, as well as tapes that have to be created and moved to a remote hotsite. By combining the management of the DR process using Softek DR Manager with IBM's Virtual Tape Server (VTS), the organization was able to significantly reduce the number of people involved, more quickly complete the entire backup and recovery process, while ensuring that all critical data is correctly backed up and protected.
