In a first for councils in New South Wales, Sutherland Shire Council implemented a secure computer infrastructure to protect its information from environmental disaster and vandalism. Recognising Council's legal liability and its responsibility to the community to protect and process information, Sutherland wanted to secure its data and ensure business continuity. With a solution created by IBM, Veritas Software and CompuSphere, an IBM Business Partner, Council's core computer applications are now available 24x7 with all data mirrored at a secondary site.
