Business pressures are driving demand for Business Intelligence (BI) across the enterprise. Productivity pressures require full empowerment of every employee. Accountability pressures require close tracking of every business process. Regulatory pressures require that businesses document what they are doing and why. These are all core BI functions. Through the use case of a large distributed retail bank, this paper describes a real-world SAS application environment where multiple groups need access to data stored in a SAS OLAP cube. Through the use of HP provisioning tools such as HP-UX Workload Manager, these disparate groups are prioritized based on existing Service Level Agreements and server resources are dynamically allocated based on priority and need.
