This white paper outlines the issues surrounding bandwidth management for next generation voice and multimedia over packet networks within the context of the MSF QoS solution. It looks back at the work that has previously been done by the MSF, culminating in the highly successful GMI 2004 event and examines the lessons learnt for bandwidth management. It identifies areas where the MSF solution for bandwidth management and QoS requires further work and considers areas of possible collaboration with other industry forums and standards organisations.
