The Rugby Football Union (RFU) is the governing body for rugby union in England, responsible for England Rugby. RFU was faced with the need to upgrade its Microsoft software, with support for Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0 operating system coming to an end. It wanted to standardize on Microsoft Windows XP operating system and Microsoft Windows Server 2003, part of Microsoft Windows Server System integrated server software, and Microsoft Active Directory. Ultima Business Solutions recommended a three-year Microsoft Enterprise Agreement plus Software Assurance to meet the RFU's business requirements, procurement needs, and to ensure that the RFU was software license compliant.
