Alexander Forbes is one of the leading providers of financial and risk services internationally. Alexander Forbes was running an Intranet, so the concept of an Intranet had been adopted within the organisation. Technically, the delivery of the information on the Intranet was facilitated across multiple platforms, which was resulting in maintenance costs that were higher than necessary. In addition, the legacy platform had some challenges, most notably in the area of information search. The separate intranets with individual branding resulted in a lack of a single enterprise wide look and feel. Primarily, the solution has been built on Microsoft's SharePoint Portal Server technology. Additional programming modules have been built to accommodate specific business requirements.
