Buskerud Fylkeskommune (BFK) is the local authority responsible for the county of Buskerud in southern Norway. BFK needs to support the growing trend towards IT use in schools and, increasingly, by students and teachers working at home. Government targets for facilitating web-based student examinations over fixed and wireless networks must be met. A secure, highly available network is therefore a top priority. BFK decided to standardise its network architecture on ProCurve technology. The design was based on ProCurve switches, software, wireless access points, and wireless access controllers. ProCurve Networking provided presales consultancy, implementation advice, training and support services.
