Officials of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences needed to connect newly rented office space to the university's high-speed LAN. The newly rented building, however, was located off-campus, and officials did not have direct access. As a result, they would be forced to obtain permission to cross a public right-of-way to trench copper or fiber-optic cable. The university turned to a flexible solution that would quickly address its need for LAN connectivity without requiring any long-term telecommunications contracts. FASTMILE, a Swiss market leader in providing and installing optical wireless solutions and a key European reseller for LightPointe, recommended a LightPointe optical wireless solution that delivers the ultimate price-per-bit and performance.
