The "Universita degli Studi di Torino" (University of Turin), Italy, is one of the best known, best equipped, and largest universities in Italy, with an enrollment of 60,000 students and 2,000 faculty members. Because the University is spread across multiple buildings over the heart of Turin, rather than a single campus setting, it had a difficult time connecting its various buildings to the main network servers in the administration building. In particular, the university's Physics Institute relied on a very slow 64 Kbps connection, and was long overdue for better network capacity and connectivity. The university's IT staff contacted LightPointe Partner Essentia, in Cella, Italy, for a solution.
