In 2004, Overstock.com's Salt Lake City campus was about to sprawl. The company desperately needed to revamp its Web site, network, data center, and corporate WLAN. The online retailer wanted to improve performance with higher bandwidth capacity and network equipment that delivered performance, scalability, reliability, and support. Foundry's BigIron MG8 high-performance, 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) switches power the network backbone, and BigIron and FastIron Edge switches with 10GbE uplinks deliver high-capacity aggregation and Layer 2/3 intelligence at the network's edge. The new state-of-the-art wireless LAN has Foundry's IronPoint access points arrayed throughout the headquarters, giving Overstock.com employees secure, high-speed wireless access.
