Today's data centers contain hundreds of servers. Software installation, management, and maintenance updates of large numbers of servers can be a daunting task, particularly when the types of servers and their configuration requirements differ. Customers require effective, easy-to-use tools to deploy, manage, and maintain Linux servers. When accomplishing an initial deployment, "Bare-Metal" server installation and/or imaging requires careful consideration of the hardware's configuration, the default server hardware configuration may not be acceptable, and there are times when array controller RAID settings often go unchanged - thereby causing unsuccessful installations. ZENworks Linux Management 7 (ZLM) from Novell is a policy-driven automation tool for deploying, managing and maintaining Linux resources.
