Exchange Server 2003 includes built-in server support for over-the-air synchronization with Exchange ActiveSync-enabled devices and Microsoft Windows Mobile - based devices such as Pocket PCs or Smartphones. Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 running on Microsoft Windows XP can connect to Exchange Server 2003 running on Windows Server 2003 over the Internet without the need for a Remote Access Service (RAS) or Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection. This paper shows how Exchange Server 2003 frees employees to gain mobile access to their e-mail messages, schedules, and reminders in a more secure and cost-effective environment without adding to the administration workload.
