As one of the largest owners and operators of parking facilities in the United States, Interpark manages approximately 300 parking locations and owns and operates another 60. Interpark's goal was to reduce expenses by replacing on site parking attendants with a remote monitoring system that could serve patrons at several garages. On a reference from Qwest Communications, which was working with a team from Cisco Systems at the time, Sentinel Technologies, Inc. designed and combined a Cisco VPN based on Cisco PIX firewalls, and VPN accelerated routers with Qwest direct Internet access for a national Wide-Area Network (WAN) solution with Cisco firewall security.
