Decrease in the cost of Bluetooth technology has allowed an increasing number of mobile embedded devices to have access to a large bandwidth wireless network connection. One application that utilizes this bandwidth is media streaming, where it also imposes certain additional constrains on the connection quality. This paper analyzes the performance of several Bluetooth stack implementations; using this information a protocol is designed that takes into account both the quality of the link and the processing capabilities of the embedded development environment to stream audio.
