Regulated by air traffic law, DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH (DFS) directs and controls air traffic and the receipt, processing and forwarding of flight plans. The airspace over Germany is among the most heavily populated in the world. On any given day, more than 8,000 airplanes are moving along airways through German airspace and at airports.
