Based in Wilmington, Del., Christiana Care Health System is one of the largest healthcare providers in the mid-Atlantic region. Christiana Care's information technology department supports various projects throughout the health system that often require specialized training or expertise in particular IT areas, as well as project management skills. Following a recent reorganization and re-evaluation of job roles, the IT department needed to find a way to train existing staff quickly and cost-effectively to support various information technology needs throughout the organization. In September 2004, Christiana Care implemented SkillSoft's SkillChoice IT solution that includes courseware, Referenceware from Books24x7, IT mentoring services and TestPreps to assist individuals with IT training and certification.
