A conflict of interest, as defined by your firm or company, must be presented openly. This sample form, which includes language describing conflicts of interest, can help you or your associates keep everything aboveboard.
As with any relationship, disclosure is a basic building block of trust. In relationships between consultants, their firms, and their clients, revealing a potential conflict of interest can help set the stage for an engagement that begins and ends in clear terms. This conflict of interest form will allow you and those you do business with to maintain that spirit of trust. It will help bring out details about potential conflicts of interest concerning employment, financial concerns, and public appearances. The form addresses issues such as:
- Work that requires you to conduct outside work on company property during company hours and/or using company facilities or equipment.
- Use of the company's name or your position in connection with your outside employment.
- Investments in the company's business partners with whom you have had dealings as a company employee.
